Please welcome the lovely Amanda Bonilla to the blog! Her brand new book, VENGEANCE BORNE, just came out on the 3rd, and she was kind enough to work up a guest post to celebrate the release of the book (and the fall season!) and also offer an ebook giveaway, so be sure to check out the details below the post!
One of the things I love about fall is that it’s back to school season. And while I totally don’t mind having the teen around in the summer—in fact, I sort of like him—I do enjoy the slower pace that comes when summer ends and everyone goes back to their regular schedules. So I thought I’d share my top 5 reasons why back to school season rocks!
5. I get the house ALL TO MYSELF.
Okay, I sort of get the house all to myself. I have to share it with the dogs and cat, but that’s fine with me. It’s quiet, no one is around asking me for anything. I don’t have to hear Call of Duty in the background or listen to YouTube videos of Pewdie Pie (Seriously, don’t ask). I love the teen dearly, but when I get to reclaim my space once school starts it is total bliss.
4. Sweater Weather
I love the cooler temperatures. Not the cold, just cooler. Plus, I get to hide in the bulk of a nice warm sweater and I can wear jeans and closed-toe shoes without feeling like I’m going to spontaneously combust. Plus, cute hats! I’m a total hat person.
3. School supplies
Who doesn’t like buying pens, notebooks, binders, and highlighters? I can’t help it, I like to binge shop for Post-Its. LOL! Even the teen said I went overboard this year. “Mom, do I really need that many packages of loose leaf paper?” My response: “Yes. Yes you do.”
2. Fresh fruits and veggies
Even though it’s a lot of work to harvest, clean, and preserve those fruits and veggies, I LOVE eating them. Fresh food always tastes better than grocery store food and it’s so good for you! I could spend all of August and September eating fruits and veggies.
1. SOCCER SEASON!
I’m a total soccer mom! Not the beat-your-face-in type of soccer mom, but the one who screams and cheers, and stands up in her seat when the game gets exciting type of soccer mom. I’m the one who takes pics and video and bites her nails every time her kid has the ball. I could watch the teen play soccer all day. Soccer is such a fast-paced, ultra physical sport. The coach and sports lover in me can’t get enough. And the teen made captain this year which makes it even more exciting! I’m hoping for lots of goals and awesome action shots this season.
What’s your favorite part of back to school season?
