Can you tell us a bit about the Jaguar Warriors series? Particularly about your newest novel, His Darkest Salvation?

My Jaguar Warrior series is an intense ride that takes us from New York State, down to the jungles of Belize, back to the heart of the Mayan Riviera, up north to Canada and ends with a bang in Las Vegas! It involves a nefarious plot that will threaten the world and I’ve all kinds of otherworld creatures, including shifters, vampires, sorcerers and some we know nothing about! At the heart of all three books are the Castille brothers, jaguar shifters, two of which are warriors. They are the worlds only hope of stopping a mad man intent on unleashing evil into our realm. His Darkest Salvation is the third, after His Darkest Hunger and His Darkest Embrace. In this third book a lot of loose ends are tied up, we have a showdown with the Evil Cormac BUT a few new questions arise which will take us into my spin off series League of Guardians. The first book in that series, Wicked Road to Hell, is Declan’s book and it comes out May of 2012.

What do you like most about writing paranormal romance?

Paranormal romance is incredibly satisfying to write because really, the only boundaries you have are in your mind. I’m not a research junkie so there is no way I’d be able to write historicals. I love them, but I couldn’t write them. Writing in this genre, you can create everything in your world. There are no rules and for me, there’s something so cool about that! In Declan’s book, as per it’s title, he takes a trip to hell and the hell that I wrote, isn’t like anything most people would think! That was amazing, to be able to do that!

What do you like to see in a good book?

A good book should have characters that by the end of the first chapter already leave me invested. I want to keep going…to see how they’ll overcome whatever obstacle is in their way. I want them to have a Happy Ending. A good book doesn’t always have to be high octane and intense, but it should never leave you feeling like it’s dragging.

What makes you toss a book aside in frustration?

I’m reading a book right now that is the last in a very popular series. I love all the books, the characters etc. But this author tends to go on and on with a lot of internal thought (it’s in first person) and I’m finding that I’m skipping a lot. Doesn’t really frustrate me so much as I’m more annoyed at the time it takes me to get through to the good parts! LOL.

Who would you say has influenced you the most in writing, or in life?

My family has definitely influenced the way I live and move about in this world. I firmly believe we, for the most part, are a product of our upbringing and I am lucky enough to have a wonderful family who support and back me in all things. As for writing, I know that Christine Feehan influenced me greatly. I’d read Ann Rice in high school, but until I picked up Dark Prince I’d not read a paranormal romance. I was hooked and haven’t looked back since!

Can you suggest some titles (other than yours, of course), that you would recommend to someone just starting to read paranormal romance?

There are so many wonderful authors out there and sadly, I’ve not a lot of time to read anymore. But my faves are (in no particular order) Christine Feehan, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Karen Marie Moning, Lynsay Sands and those are just a few. A great way to browse is google Paranormal romance on Amazon.

Is there any other news of upcoming projects or events you’d like to share?

Well, I’m starting a new series that’s a spin off of the Jaguar Warriors, called, League of Guardians. The first book releases next year, May 2012 and it’s called Wicked Road to Hell. The hero is Declan O’Hara, my sexy sorcerer who’s been in all of my Jaguar Warrior books! There will also be a prequel novella released in February, tentatively titled Shades of Gray. It will bridge the gab between Salvation and Wicked Road to Hell.

About His Darkest Salvation:
After six months in hell, Julian Castille has returned to the world a changed man. No longer the longer the calm, powerful CEO, but a shifter fully embraced by the blood of his clan. Julian has one goal: find the key to the portal that stands between the human realm and unprecedented darkness-and win back the pieces of his soul. The last thing he needs is a distraction like the beautiful, enigmatic Jaden DaCosta.Three years ago, a forbidden night of passion left Jaden forever altered: mated to Julian Castille–bound to a man who despises her. But the temptation to trust this darker, more savage-and more captivating-Julian is overwhelming. And as they fight for their immortal souls, their insatiable desire for each other may prove their fatal undoing…

Hi Juliana. Thank you for the interview.
I have only read HIS DARKEST HUNGER so far and let me tell you, I LOVED IT so much. The story just griped me and didn’t let go. Now it’s time for HIS DARKEST EMBRACE and I know I won’t be disappointed. By the time I read HIS DARKEST SALVATION, I will need a quiet place to recover from all the strong emotional stories. Please keep up the great works. Hugs.
