I’m so thrilled to have the uber talented Rachel Caine on the blog today! Rachel is the author of the wildly popular Morganville Vampires series, as well as the Weather Warden and Outcast series (and much more). She’s also got a brand new series in the works as well! Rachel was also kind enough to offer a copy of the newest Morganville Vampires book, Bite Club, to one lucky commenter!

Rachel, thanks so much for taking the time to answer my questions! I’m so thrilled to have you on the blog today!
Thank you, I’m delighted to be here!
You have a degree in business and have held jobs from accounting to web design! I read that you’ve been writing since you were 14. Did you always imagine eventually making a living as a writer?
What were some of your favorite novels or authors as a child?
Oh, so many! I think the ones that made the biggest, earliest impressions were adventure stories. I was a big Doc Savage fan, and the Phantom, and I fell in love with the romance and cleverness of The Scarlet Pimpernel. I adored Sherlock Holmes. Almost everything I loved had two components: historical settings, and great adventure. I got into science fiction at about twelve, and read everything from space operas to very literary stories. Then I discovered horror at fourteen, and loved that too. So I guess the answer is … everything?
The Weather Warden series is probably one of my favorite series ever. If it were made into a movie, who could you picture as David and Joanne?
I imagine your schedule is probably grueling, with writing full time, not to mention appearances and signings. When you find time for yourself, how do you like to spend it?
